A number of you have inquired about the Protective Security Conference in 2009 and I first want to thank you for your messages. In normal times, we would be preparing to attend the PSC, but given the current economic environment we believe it is prudent to postpone this year’s conference. We are looking forward to the time when we can announce the next event.
Until then, and to partially fill the void, we have launched this website. We’ve just begun to produce content and install functional elements so bear with us. The purpose of the new website is to expand the exchange of information between conferences, so we borrowed from the conference and have named this new “virtual” gathering place the PROTECTIVE SECURITY COUNCIL.
If you have something you would like to contribute to the website, we want to hear from you. We are interested in articles, news, job offers, and other items you think may be of interest to other security professionals. Moreover, we would appreciate your suggestions about what the Protective Security Council should be…and do…to serve your needs.
Here’s what we have done so far.
ARTICLES
Several authors have already posted articles that might be of interest to you. I won’t take space here to describe them, just click on the Articles tab to see a listing of current articles.
If you have written an article and would like to post it on the PSC, submit it to: info@protectivesecuritycouncil.com. Click the Articles tab and then Author Guidelines for instructions to post an article
JOBS
If you’re looking for a job or contract, we have a Jobs page. We just launched this page so it will take some time before there are offerings but you might want to bookmark it and check it occasionally.
If you are an employer with job or contract offerings, you can post them FREE. Go to the Jobs page for submission instructions.
NEWS
We also invite you to submit news items about which others might interested. Send your news via email to info@protectivesecuritycouncil.com. Keep it short, and include your name, email address, and telephone number.
REGISTER
For now, all the content on the PSC website is FREE. But we do ask you to join our mailing list so we can keep you informed about new web features and announcements about future conferences. There’s no obligation, you can opt-out anytime, and we will not trade or sell your contact information. Feel free to pass this message along to other security professionals you know who could benefit by joining the PSC community.
NETWORKING
We have also established a LinkedIn.com group under the name of Protective Security Council. We are going to use this function for the present to facilitate conversation and information exchange between PSC members. LinkedIn.com registration is free, and is a good way to expand your own network. For those who use Facebook, we also have a Protective Security Council group there too.
